Cairo Top Tours will allow you to explore Alexandria in a day of fun excursions starting with a visit to the Quitbay Citadel, located at the end of Pharos Island in the El Sayyala area in the El Gomrok neighborhood in the far west of Alexandria, built on the ruins of one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is the lighthouse of ancient Alexandria. This castle was built by Sultan Al-Ashraf King Abu Al-Nasr Qaitbay Al-Mahmoudi in 882 AH / 1477 AD.

You will also enjoy an unforgettable visit to the Library of Alexandria, also known as the Royal Library of Alexandria or the Great Library; it was the largest library of its time, built by Ptolemy I. It is said to have been founded by Alexander the Great some twenty-three centuries ago and is also said to have been founded by Ptolemy II in the early third century BC.

As you are in Alexandria, you cannot miss seeing the Pillar Pompay. In the third century A.D., the column was built in honor of Emperor Diocletian. It is the last surviving relic of the Temple of Serapeum erected by Emperor Posthumus. The body of the column is a single piece.

You will also enjoy an ideal visit to the tombs of Kom el Shoqafa. Located in the Karmouz district of the West Alexandria neighborhood, the Kom El Shoqafa cemetery dates back to the second century AD and is considered one of the most important cemeteries in the city, and the area was named after the many pottery remains and crushers that accumulated in this place.

Next, we continue our journey to the Qaitbay Citadel, which is situated on the remains of one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is situated at the point of Pharos Island, near El Sayyala, in the district of El Gomrok, at the western end of Alexandria. It is the antique Alexandrian lighthouse. Sultan Al-Ashraf, King Abu Al-Nasr Qaitbay Al-Mahmoudi, constructed this castle between 882 and 1477.

We shall next proceed to Kom el Shoqafa's tombs. Situated in the West Alexandria neighborhood of the Karmouz district, the Kom el Shoqafa cemetery is one of the most significant in the city and dates back to the second century AD. The area got its name from the large number of pottery remains and crushers that accumulated there.

Last but not least, we must explore the Pompay Column, which was built in the third century AD in honor of Emperor Diocletian and is the only surviving artifact from Emperor Postumus' Temple of Serapeum. The column's body is one piece.
