You will visit the Valley of the Royal Mummies, which is one of the most famous archaeological discoveries of which Egyptian archaeologists are proud. More than 100 complete and precious mummies were discovered in the first phase of excavations in the valley. This was an unprecedented event, as such a large number of royal mummies had never been uncovered in such a good state of preservation. Egyptian missions have excavated approximately 250 unique and valuable mummies, with the unofficial number of mummies estimated at around 10,000.
You will see the stunning Tomb of Panentiu, a beautifully preserved pharaonic tomb discovered in 1938 and dating back to the 26th Dynasty. The historical significance of this precious tomb stems from the distinctive style used in the Pharaonic drawings, inscriptions, calligraphy, and vivid colors. You will see the exceptional Temple of Alexander. Its significance stems from the fact that it is the only place where distinctive cartouches bearing the name of Alexander the Great have been found. Alexander the Great commissioned the construction of this exceptional temple and dedicated it to the great gods Horus and Amun while passing through the enchanting Bahariya Oasis on his way to the picturesque Siwa Oasis.
You will also visit the Temple of Ain Meftala, which was the main center of the ancient city of Al Qasr. This remarkable temple was built during the 26th Dynasty, although some parts of the temple may date back to earlier periods in the New Kingdom. The temple was expanded by the great Greeks and later by the powerful Romans. Some of the main parts of this remarkable temple were built by the high priest Zeid Khonsu Afankh, whose brother Shebin Khonsu was a priest during the reign of the famous king Ahmose II.
After enjoying a delicious fresh Bedouin dinner in the White Desert, you will visit the famous Wadi al-Hiz, which houses a large collection of ancient churches, lavish palaces, tombs, and cemeteries dating back to the Late Period and the well-known Roman era. You will also see the enchanting Crystal Mountain, which is one of the most beautiful and rare mountains in the world. It appears as a small, beautiful arch of rocks and rare crystals, glittering when the sun reflects, making it resemble a king's crown adorned with thousands of precious and colorful jewels in the middle of the desert.
You will also see the picturesque Wadi al-Agabat, which was formed over 80 million years ago by natural erosion in the middle of the Western Desert. This valley has created hundreds of beautiful rocky hills with peaks and giant chalk rocks dating back to ancient times. At the end of the day, you will prepare for the most wonderful camping experience you will have in the White Desert after your delicious dinner.
